Steve Schweitzer was born and raised in Ohio and spent his younger years fishing his parents’ farm pond for bass and bluegill with poppers. At age 7, his grandfather taught him the craft of lure-making and he was hooked ever since. Now, an avid fly fisherman and noted fly tyer, Steve enjoys
backpacking, hiking and writing about fly fishing and fly tying. Steve is author of the award-winning “”A Fly Fishing Guide To Rocky Mountain National Park””, and co-authored, “”A Fly Fishing Guide to Colorado’s Indian Peaks Wilderness Area”” with Mike Kruise. His latest book, “Designing Poppers, Sliders and Divers” is the most comprehensive manual ever written on top water fly lure making. Steve is also a frequent contributor to leading fly fishing periodicals. Steve resides in Northern Colorado.
